Case summary

On 20 July 2017, Semyonov was charged with incitement to hatred towards Bulgarians. While being under a recognisance not to leave the country, on 13 October, he was taken into custody after leaving his place of residence to attend to personal matters. On 24 May 2018, the Sudak city court fined him 50 thousand rubles. On 6 February, the Supreme Court of Crimea reversed the sentence due to partial decriminalisation of Article 282 of the Criminal Code.
