Case summary

A resident of the Kemerovo region. In February 2022, it became known that the materials concerning Serebryakova were separated from the criminal case of her fellow countryman Sergey Sushilnikov. In June 2022, a criminal case was reportedly opened. Serebryakova was accused of participating in the activities of an extremist organisation due to her involvement with the Jehovah's Witnesses community. Representatives of this community are prosecuted under extremist articles solely because of their religious activities - holding meetings and worship services and attracting new supporters. On 22 July, she was charged and signed a covenant not to leave. On 11 July 2023, the court sentenced her to a four-year suspended sentence.
