Case summary

In 2013, a case was brought against Sharifullina under part 1 of article 282.2 of the Criminal Code (organisation of activities of a banned organisation) for coordinating the activities of a "women's underground madrassa"; during searches, a large amount of literature (books, leaflets, newspaper clippings, brochures, including over 1,000 books by Said Nursi), computers, hard drives and teaching materials were seized. She was placed under house arrest. She was sentenced to a fine of 100,000 roubles (±3220 USD).

Detained in March 2020 and placed under house arrest on charges of organising activities of an extremist organisation. Again, as in 2013, charged with organising activities of a home madrassa. On 31 August 2021 sentenced to two years' suspended sentence.
