Case summary
According to law enforcement authorities, Shirokov joined the banned "AUE" movement (“Arestantsky. Uklad. Edin,” or “Prison. Order. Universal”) no later than March 2020 and "actively participated in [its] activities", which, among other things, "took the form of observing so-called 'thieves' rules' and cultivating the foundations of prison life, as well as making statements in support of the AUE movement and demonstrating his adherence to the said movement among his peers". On 22 February 2022, he was sentenced to two years' suspended sentence.
