Case summary
The head of Transparency International in Russia, Shumanov, was designated as a "foreign agent" in October 2022. In August 2024, it was reported that he had been placed on a wanted list in connection with a case alleging evasion of duties required of a "foreign agent." Previously, Shumanov had been fined at least twice under a similar administrative charge (Article 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences).
Interestingly, one of the rulings, published on the website of the Basmanny District Court of Moscow, partially copied the text of a decision issued under the same article against the singer Monetochka. According to the ruling, Shumanov was accused of posting two videos on the singer's channel.
