Case summary

On 12 April 2013, the house was searched, Jehovah's Witnesses literature was seized, and a case was opened for incitement to religious hatred based on statements made during community meetings. On 4 March 2016, the court acquitted Sivak. The court ruling stated, inter alia, that the experts "substituted the objects submitted for examination with objects found by hand". On 26 May 2016, the appellate court sent the case for a new examination. On 21 June 2017, the Sergiev Posad court acquitted Sivak for a second time.
