Case summary

A resident of Kurgan, Russia. On 14 June 2021, Skudaev's home was searched, and he was detained. The next day, the court ordered him into custody as part of a case concerning the activities of an extremist organisation, in connection with his involvement in the Jehovah's Witnesses community. Representatives of this community are prosecuted under extremist charged solely because of their religious activities — holding meetings, conducting worship services and attracting new supporters. On 19 November, the court ordered a measure of restraint on Skudaev in the form of a ban on certain actions. On 3 April 2025, he was sentenced to a fine of 790,000 rubles.
