Case summary
Eduard Limonov's Other Russia activist. A contempt of court case was opened against him due to the fact that unknown people hung a poster "JUDGE ANTONOV IS A DICKHEADS' SERVANT" on the fence of the Nizhny Novgorod District Court. The defence argued that Suleymanov's involvement had not been proven. On 28 July 2021, he was sentenced to one year of corrective labor. On 21 October 2022, due to the fact that Suleymanov did not serve his sentence, having gone to war, the court sentenced him to 2 months and 25 days in a penal colony (minimum security prison camp). On 12 December, the court of appeal cancelled this decision. However, on 15 May 2023, the court ruled that Suleymanov should serve his sentence in an isolated section functioning as a correctional facility. On 1 August 2023, Suleymanov set off for his destination. He is expected to be released no later than the end of 2023.
