Case summary

On 5 December 2019, Suvorova was charged with participation in the activities of an extremist organisation in connection with her alleged involvement in the activities of the Jehovah’s Witnesses community. Representatives of this community are prosecuted under extremism-related articles solely in connection with their religious activities, including holding meetings and worship services and recruiting new adherents. Suvorova was placed under a travel restriction. On 11 March 2021, she was sentenced to two years’ suspended imprisonment.
