Case summary

A resident of the Moscow Region. Assistant driver of a locomotive in the Moscow metro. According to the official version, he intended to fight on the side of Ukraine, and therefore travelled to Bryansk region, where he attempted to cross the border on foot, after which he was detained. He was prosecuted for attempted treason and illegal border crossing. Telegin pleaded guilty to attempted illegal border crossing, but denied that he was going to fight on the side of Ukraine. On 14 December 2023, he was sentenced to nine and a half years in a strict regime colony.
