Case summary
A resident of Moscow, an accountant and investment manager. A criminal case was opened against her for disseminating knowingly false information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation due to messages about the killing of civilians in Ukraine. She was arrested in absentia; it was previously mistakenly reported that she was in custody. According to the text of the court ruling, the case was opened on 9 August, on 25 August Tolmacheva was placed on the federal wanted list, on 5 October charges were brought against her in absentia and she was placed on the international wanted list, and on 7 October she was arrested in absentia. On 22 December 2023, Tolmacheva was sentenced in absentia to 8.5 years’ imprisonment.
