On 28 January 2021, Tregubov was detained for interrogation, it was not reported on what criminal case. On 30 January 2021, Tregubov's home was searched in a case of violation of sanitary and epidemiological norms. On the same day, a video appeared on Tregubov's Facebook, in which he refuses to be the head of Alexei Navalny's headquarters and calls not to go to uncoordinated events. Later, Tregubov said through his lawyer that he was forced to record the video by the police. On 28 February it became known that Tregubov is a suspect in a criminal case. He left Russia.
