Case summary
Resident of Spassk-Dalnego (Primorsky Krai). On 25 November 2018, he was detained and placed under house arrest on 27 November on charges of organising activities of an extremist organisation in connection with his involvement with the Jehovah's Witnesses community. Representatives of this community are prosecuted under extremist articles solely for religious activities: meetings, joint worship services, attracting new supporters. On 19 November 2019, he was released from house arrest on his own recognisance. On 10 February 2023, sentenced to six and a half years in a general regime colony. On 24 May, the court of appeal reduced the sentence by two months.
