Case summary
A resident of Verkhny Mamon village (Voronezh Oblast). A criminal case on discrediting the Armed Forces was initiated in November 2022. Law enforcers broke into Tronev's house and detained him. He gave a confession. In May 2023, Tronev was sentenced to two years of probation and compulsory observation by a psychiatrist in outpatient conditions. On 7 September, the court of appeal acknowledged that the court of orginial jurisdiction had incorrectly qualified the act as belonging to the category of medium gravity (according to the later wording of the Criminal Code article) rather than minor, and replaced the suspended imprisonment with a fine of 100,000 rubles.
