Case summary
She is a resident of Orenburg, associates herself with the “Citizens of the USSR” and calls herself a co-founder of the “Community of Free Indigenous Peoples of the Orenburg Province – a local government body based on the zemstvo [an institution of local self-government established in the Russian Empire in 1864]” in social networks.
In January 2025, the Investigative Committee reported about the initiation of proceedings against her for desecration of the symbol of military glory for a repost on VKontakte that she made in August 2024. Tsareva reposted a picture showing the coat of arms of Nazi Germany with a St. George’s ribbon tied on it and the collaborationist Ivan Kononov. The picture also contained the caption, “During World War II, St. George’s ribbons were awarded only to Vlasov’s RUSSIAN corps, who fought on the side of the NAZIS”. Tsareva supplemented the repost with her own comment: "EREFIA DOES NOT HIDE FASHIST SYMBOLS".
After the woman was detained, she was placed under house arrest. In June 2025, the Investigative Committee reported that the case had been sent to court.
