Case summary
A resident of Kaltan (Kemerovo Oblast). Tsikunov worked as the head of the State Architectural and Construction Supervision Inspection of the Kaltan Administration, and later as an engineer of the Major Construction Department at South Kuzbass GRES power plant. On 2 May 2021, his home was searched. He was detained, and on May 4, the court placed him under house arrest. On 24 June 2021, his measure of restraint was changed to a recognisance not to leave. In August 2022, the prosecutor's office returned the case for further investigation due to the fact that Tsikunov's right to defence was violated during the theological and linguistic expert examinations. In June 2023, the case went to court. On 6 March 2025, he was sentenced to six years in a strict regime penal colony.
