Case summary
Bair Buryad, a resident of Ulan-Ude and author of the YouTube channel Bair Buryad, worked as a chief specialist at the local Folk Art Centre. He left Russia after mobilisation was announced. He was prosecuted for disseminating deliberately false information about the Russian Armed Forces because of a YouTube broadcast in which he discussed with a guest the crimes of the Russian military in Bucha during the occupation in 2022. In March 2026, the case went to court.
