Case summary

In December 2014, a case of incitement to ethnic hatred was initiated, prompted by statements made by the parents of two female students to the prosecutor's office about extremist statements made by Tykman in classes on Jewish tradition; during the trial, the prosecution witnesses were very inconsistent, and significant inconsistencies were found in the prosecution's position; the only evidence against Tykman remained the protocols of interrogations of two minor girls, the reliability of which is questionable; since these two texts are almost identical; in court, the FSB employee who led the case acted as a witness; On February 24, 2016, the court sentenced him to a fine of 200 thousand rubles and released him from punishment due to the expiration of the statute of limitations
