Case summary

On 16 February 2015, he was searched; a criminal case was initiated on calls to extremism and incitement to ethnic hatred; he wrote a confession of guilt, explaining that he had done so under threat of detention; he was under a personal recognizance, and on 28 April 2015 he was taken into custody (investigators suspected that he had left the territory of Russia); he was placed in a punishment cell twice - for 10 and 15 days: due to "non-performance of labour duties" and because during the first term in the punishment cell he refused to wear punishment cell uniform because it was too cold in it; during the court arguments, the prosecutor requested four years in a penal colony, he was sentenced to five years in a general regime colony.

On 16 January 2019, Tyumentsev was released due to the partial decriminalisation of Article 282 of the Criminal Code.
