Case summary

On 22 July 2021, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation announced the detention of seven more people on suspicion of involvement in the attempted terrorist attack on the territory of a police station in Kislovodsk, Stavropol Territory, in April of the year. Umarov was among them.

He was accused of participating in the activities of the religious association "At-Takfir wal-Hijra". On 2 November 2022, the Investigative Committee announced the completion of the investigation in his case and the transfer of the case to court.
