Initially, he was accused of committing actions of an organisational nature aimed at the continuation and resumption of illegal activities of the banned organisation "Administrative Centre of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia" in the form of convening meetings with the participation of residents of the town of Taiga; through the computer program "Zoom" he organised the provision of activities in the town of Taiga, Kemerovo oblast, of the banned religious organisation "Administrative Centre of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia" by convening and holding meetings of its members and holding conversations. During the court hearing, the prosecutor announced that no evidence of actions of an "organisational nature" had been found, and Usanov's charges were reclassified from organising the activities of an extremist organisation to participation.
