Case summary

A popular blogger. In March 2023, he was added to the register of "foreign agents". In November 2024, it became known that a criminal case was opened against Varlamov for evading his duties as a "foreign agent". In June 2025, the Moscow Prosecutor's Office reported another criminal charge against the blogger under the article on the dissemination of "false information" about the Russian army. This charge relates to a video published in November 2023 on Varlamov's YouTube channel, in which he spoke about the shelling of residential buildings in Krivoy Rog and Odessa that occurred in June 2023.

In July 2025, the court began hearing the combined case against Varlamov. On August 14, 2025, he was convicted in absentia and sentenced to eight years' imprisonment and a fine of 99.5 million rubles.
