Case summary
Resident of Maikop. Detained on 20 October 2022 after a search, the next day the court sent him to custody as part of a case of organising activities of an extremist organisation in connection with his involvement in the Jehovah's Witnesses community. Representatives of this community are prosecuted under extremist articles solely for religious activities: meetings, joint worship services, attracting new supporters.
On 14 September 2023, Voishchev was sentenced to three years in a general regime colony. On 29 April 2025, he was released.
On 8 February 2026, he died of cancer.
