Case summary
Resident of Nizhny Novgorod, diagnosed with schizophrenia since childhood. Volsky has a second-degree disability.
In July 2023, he was placed under house arrest on charges of spreading knowingly false information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In September, he was also charged with incitement to extremism. On 3rd October, Volsky was released under a travel restriction order.
The charge under the article concerning "fake news" was initially filed under the first part of the article, but was later reclassified to dissemination of knowingly false information motivated by political hatred.
On 14th May 2024, Volsky was ordered to undergo compulsory treatment.
