Case summary
Chairman of the Presidium of the All-Tatar Public Centre, which was recognized as an extremist organization and liquidated by the Supreme Court of Tatarstan on June 10th, 2022, Zakiev left Russia following the outbreak of full-scale war.
On June 4th, 2024, it was revealed that a criminal case had been opened against Zakiyev under the article on spreading "fakes" about the Russian army. Earlier in 2024, Zakiyev was fined 10,000 and 35,000 rubles under the articles on participation in the activities of an undesirable organization (Article 20.33 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation) and for calling for the introduction of restrictive measures against Russia and its citizens (Article 20.3.4 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation).
