Case summary

He is a resident of St. Petersburg, an urban preservationist, formerly a municipal councillor, before that an engineer at military factories, and author of books about the military glory of Oranienbaum (a palace and park ensemble near St. Petersburg). On 26 June 2025, he was searched in a case of spreading "fakes" about the Russian army with the motive of political hatred. The next day Zhuravlev was sent under house arrest. The reason for his prosecution were three posts about the war in the group "City of Oranienbaum" in "VKontakte", published in April 2022.
