The press service of Gazprom Arena told the Telegram channel Ostorozhno, Novosti that the venue is in talks with Moscow agency Say Agency, which is organizing two Kanye West concerts. Stadium representatives confirmed the rapper's performance is possible, but "the only thing is that the dates will most likely be postponed."
The press service said it could not yet give tentative dates, but the maximum postponement period is 6-9 days. Fans of the musician were asked "not to worry." The performances were previously scheduled for October 10 and 11, with organizers reporting that more than 100,000 tickets had been sold.
Two days earlier, on August 24, Gazprom Arena representatives said they had not signed stadium rental contracts for the concerts and claimed the event would not take place. The venue then accused Say Agency of launching an advertising campaign and selling tickets "without the necessary documents." St. Petersburg media reported that the concerts were not approved by authorities and were canceled "by a call from above" from Moscow.
Meanwhile, Gazprom Arena's and the Zenit football club's social media accounts had previously published concert announcements and held ticket giveaways. Say Agency head Anna Subcheva told RIA Novosti that the agency is "resolving the issue with Gazprom Arena."
