Russian forces carried out six strikes with guided aerial bombs (KABs) on the Sumy region, regional military administration head Oleh Hryhorov reported. One bomb landed near a medical facility in an area with heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic, he said. The other strikes hit infrastructure targets.
The dead include a woman and a man; the identity of the third victim, who suffered extremely severe injuries, is being established. Among the 17 wounded is a 16-year-old. Two of the injured with serious wounds are undergoing surgery.
Hryhorov described the attack as a deliberate strike on civilians. According to his data, cluster munitions were likely used.
Earlier reports had put the number of wounded at seven, including an 11-year-old child. The figure was later revised to 17.
