Yevgeny Vasilyev, the son of Russian opposition activist Yelena Vasilyeva, has died in Brest, Belarus. The news was reported by Sota Project, citing Vasilyeva herself.
According to his mother, on June 25, Yevgeny traveled from Moscow to Brest to film the Star Time nail art competition. He worked as an executive director at a Moscow photo studio.
Vasilyeva learned of her son's death from his friend in Moscow. That friend, in turn, was informed by the head of the competition's organizing group. According to her, Vasilyev allegedly stayed alone overnight in the building where the event was held.
The mother believes her son may have been killed. Details of his death and official comments from authorities were not available at the time of publication.
