Case summary

Oleg Abdyukov is a Ukrainian serviceman. Authorities took him prisoner no later than April 2022. He was held at the penal colony in Yelenovka, Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine, and was wounded on 29 July 2022 during a missile strike on the colony’s territory.

On 18 December 2024, the court sentenced Abdyukov to 24 years in a strict-regime penal colony. He was convicted of murdering two people in a manner posing a general danger as part of an organised group, motivated by political and ideological hatred, as well as the ill-treatment of civilians. Investigators allege that he fired a grenade launcher at a car in Mariupol, resulting in the deaths of two civilians.

Furthermore, authorities brought a separate case against Abdyukov for participating in a terrorist community due to his involvement with the 'Azov' battalion. This case was referred to court in October 2025.
