Case summary

He detained on the night of 4 September 2021, taken to an unknown destination. In the early morning, in the absence of a lawyer, he wrote a confession of guilt. The protocol of detention was not completed until late in the evening of 4 September. Ten days later, Akhtemov told his lawyer under an agreement that he had been tortured with electric shocks and beaten. In December it was reported that Akhtemov was not being given letters in the pre-trial detention centre. On 21 September 2022, he was sentenced to 13 years in a strict regime colony. In June 2023, it was reported that Akhtemov was being tortured in the pre-trial detention centre.
