Case summary
A resident of the Krasnoslobodsky district of Mordovia, beekeeper. Known as "Mordovian Farmer". Created his own radio channel. The publication Stolitsa-S reported that the frequency on which he was broadcasting was used for communication of the domestic and international airlines' aircraft with each other and with the "ground". Akimov allegedly cut into the dialogue between pilots and the airport dispatcher, due to this he was twice brought to administrative liability in 2018 for using a radio-electronic device without registration. On 16 June 2022, Akimov was detained and then taken into custody on charges of calling for terrorism due to anti-war statements on his radio channel, including aggressive ones. On 12 April 2023, he was sentenced to six years in penal colony.
