According to the investigation, "being in January 2016 (the exact date has not been established by the investigation) on the territory of Ukraine, acting deliberately, on the grounds of political enmity towards the Russian Federation and the fact of its attaching the Republic of Crimea, voluntarily arrived at the camp of the illegal armed formation "Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan" (hereinafter - IAF) located near the village, i.e. an armed formation not not provided for in the legislation of Ukraine, created no later than November 2015 (the exact date is not specified) and headed by a citizen of the Russian Federation, L.E. Islyamov. Being in the camp of the above-mentioned IAF, in January 2016 (the exact date has not been established by the investigation), aware of the unlawful nature of his actions, he voluntarily joined the IAF, which was not not provided for in the legislation of Ukraine, had a military organisation and armed its members with various types of firearms and other weapons. At the same time, he shared and supported the goals of the creation and activities of the IAF, which were contrary to the interests of the Russian Federation, and from the moment he joined this formation he knew that the members of the IAF had firearms and ammunition and admitted the possibility of using them. Being a member of the said IAF, during the period from an unspecified date of January 2016 to January 2022, he took an active part in its activities, carrying out various instructions of the leaders of the IAF, including reconnaissance near the Russian-Ukrainian border, in addition, being provided with firearms, took courses in weapons training, and to date has not declared voluntary termination of his participation in the said IAF".
