Case summary

The resident of Crimea. He left the territory controlled by the Russian Federation. A case was opened against him for participation in an illegal armed formation due to his involvement in the activities of the Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan. On April 25, 2023, Asanov was sentenced in absentia to 12 years in a strict regime penal colony.
