Case summary

Unemployed, amateur photographer. Previously worked as a security guard in the FSIN system. On 27 October 2022, he was detained and then taken into custody in a terrorist attack case because, according to the investigation, he threw two Molotov cocktails on the roof of the military recruitment office in the village of Mukhorshibir, which resulted in the burning of two square metres of the building's facade. According to his wife, Babintsev was categorically against the war. She assumes that he was trying to express his disagreement in this way, but, in addition, he was counting on getting a criminal record and not being drafted. On 4 October 2023, he was sentenced to 13 years in a strict regime colony.
