Alexander Batsenin

According to the investigation, from 12 November 2022 to 4 March 2023, Batsenin used his POCO X3 NFC phone to text on Telegram with a user under the nickname "Oswald Lemokh", a member of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RVC) fighting on the side of Ukraine. On 4 March, "Oswald Lemokh" sent Batsenin a bank card number on Telegram. On 23 May, Batsenin opened a Kiwi wallet, but 14 transfers for 12,600 rubles (≈$120 as of 23.03.2022) did not reach the addressee, as the bank rejected all payments. On 26 May, Batsenin tried to transfer money from his Xiaomi Redmi 9a phone. On 6 June, he transferred 1,050 rubles (≈$17 as of 06.06.2022) from Xiaomi to the bank card of a cryptocurrency exchange owner in order for him to send the cryptocurrency to the RVC account. Taking into account 270 rubles (≈$4.3) of commission, 779.93 rubles (≈$12.7) reached the addressee. Batsenin reported the transfer to "Oswald Lemokh" in correspondence on 7 June, "expressing an inducement to use the transferred money in violent and destructive actions against Russia and its representatives." "Cryptocurrency in the specified amount was used to purchase weapons, ammunition, items of uniforms, equipment in the interests of the RVC and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, <...> that is, to provide financial assistance to Ukraine in activities against the security of Russia." On 14 June, Batsenin attempted to register on the crypto exchange Garantex with Xiaomi. However, he failed to pass the identity confirmation procedure, which caused two transfers for 1,770 and 1,368 rubles (≈$30 and ≈$24 as of 14.06.2022, respectively) to fail. Batsenin and his father claim that he does not have a Xiaomi phone.
