Case summary

A resident of Novorossiysk. A case was opened against him for publicly justifying terrorism because due to drunken outbursts about explosions and shootings. On 25 August 2022, the Telegram channel "Super Novorossiysk News" posted a video of Chafonov apologising, saying that he was drunk and his words were a joke. On 13 April 2023, he was sentenced to two and a half years in a general regime colony. On 24 February 2025, Chafonov was presumably released.
