According to the investigation, on the evening of August 24, 2022, while in a public place, on the city embankment, using a mobile phone, using the "Internet" telecommunications network, he recorded several video messages containing calls for terrorist activity, which he posted in a chat of a messenger channel accessible for public viewing and copying by its participants. The Telegram channel "Nasha Gazeta Novorossiysk" published the live photo message that Chafonov posted on his telegram channel. The publication claimed that the man allegedly threatened passersby strolling along the embankment. In the video, the man says "I would blow you all up" and "Glory to Ukraine!".

Full summary
A resident of Novorossiysk. A case was opened against him for publicly justifying terrorism because due to drunken outbursts about explosions and shootings. On 25 August 2022, the Telegram channel "Super Novorossiysk News" posted a video of Chafonov apologising, saying that he was drunk and his words were a joke. On 13 April 2023, he was sentenced to two and a half years in a general regime colony. On 24 February 2025, Chafonov was presumably released.
