According to the investigation, on 21.09.2024 Chaikovsky, being on the territory of St. Petersburg, using a technical means with the possibility of access to the information and telecommunication network "Internet", through his account in the messenger "Telegram", published in the open Internet community under the publication, which is in the public domain, a comment: "salute in honour of Defence Forces of Ukraine (ZSU)", containing a statement, which contains a justification of terrorism, namely a terrorist act committed with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles 21.09.2024 on the territory of a military unit located in the Krasnodar region.

On 2 October 2025, he was detained in a case of justification of terrorism because of the comment "salute in honour of ZSU" left on 21 September 2024 under the news about a drone attack on a military unit in Krasnodar Krai. The day after his arrest, Tchaikovsky was taken into custody.
