Case summary
A resident of the Kherson region of Ukraine. He is probably abducted no later than February 2024. A video was published in which Chebukin describes how the British Council tried to recruit him through his acquaintance Svetlana Voloshina, who lived in Kiev and moved to the UK after the outbreak of war. According to Chebukin, Voloshina offered him to report on the deployment of Russian equipment and troops, but he refused. A high treason case was brought against him: according to the investigation, he transferred money to the account of a Ukrainian citizen, which was "intended for financial support and logistical support of Ukrainian armed formations". Presumably, in February 2025, Chebukin was sentenced to 12 and a half years in a strict regime penal colony.
