Case summary

A Ukrainian serviceman who was taken as a prisoner of war. In February 2024, along with six other servicemen, he was sentenced in a case involving charges of murder, attempted murder, cruel treatment of civilians, and property damage. According to the investigation, Chibukov was involved in "fan" shelling of residential areas in the occupied territory of the Donetsk region of Ukraine using high-explosive fragmentation and active-rocket projectiles. He was sentenced to 25 years in a strict-regime penal colony.

Additionally, a separate case was initiated against him for participation in the activities of a "terrorist community" due to his involvement with the Azov battalion. This case was submitted to the court in September 2025. On 18 December 2026, he was sentenced in this case to a total of 29 years in a strict-regime penal colony, accounting for the previous sentence.
