According to the investigation, in January 2015, he voluntarily joined the Azov regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine (a terrorist organisation banned in Russia), received training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities and subsequent application of the acquired skills in combat operations. After that, as a medical instructor of an anti-aircraft battery, he took part in combat operations, resulting in the death of civilians and destruction of civilian infrastructure.
