Case summary
Resident of Genicheskiy district of Kherson region (Ukraine). On 27 March 2022, he was detained at passport control on the way from Kherson region to Crimea, taken to the FSS in Simferopol. A criminal case was initiated on 29 March. The court placed Gugurik in custody on charges of involvement in an illegal armed formation, namely the Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan, which apparently had not been functioning for a long time at the time of the prosecution. On 25 October, he was sentenced to eight and a half years in a strict regime colony.
