Case summary
On 20 October 2015, he was detained together with other people suspected in participating in the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir. He was arrested on 21 October. He was charged under part 1 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code (organising activities of a terrorist organisation). On 15 June 2017, he was sentenced to 17 years in a strict regime colony and a 130,000 rubles fine. Due to the expiration of the statute of limitations, he was exempted from paying the fine.
