Case summary

A resident of Crimea. Formerly the head of the village of Yarkoe Pole. On January 19, 2023, he was detained and placed under house arrest on charges of participating in the activities of an illegal armed group: according to the investigation, Kadyrov participated in the activities of the Crimean Tatar volunteer battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhihan, namely, he provided other participants with food. On June 1, 2023, Kadyrov was sentenced to two years in a general regime penal colony. On August 17, 2023, the court of appeals increased the sentence to five years.
