Case summary
Resident of the Kherson region (Ukraine). On 24 February 2025, he was detained, after which he was allegedly placed in pre-trial detention on charges of involvement in the activities of the Noman Chelebidzhikhan Battalion, which had effectively ceased to exist before the alleged acts took place. The head of the Crimean Tatar Resource Centre Eskender Bariev stated that a month after his detention, Karamurzaev's family knew nothing about his whereabouts. On 15th December 2025, Karamurzaev was sentenced to eight years in a strict-regime penal colony.
