Case summary

Resident of St. Petersburg, operator of the Vtorplastmaterial enterprise. He was prosecuted for incitement to terrorism for comments made in the chat room of the project "I Want to Live", which accepts appeals for surrender to Ukrainian captivity. At the trial, Karasev said that he was drunk when he left the comments and read the chat room because he had an acquaintance missing in the war and also had a son fighting in the war. On 18 September 2025, he was sentenced to a 500,000 fine (≈$6000 as of 09/18/2025)
