The case was based on the 2018 publication of a text by a recently killed journalist Orkhan Dzhemal justifying the actions of those involved in the 2010 attack on Nalchik, written by him immediately after the attack, and a 2021 post justifying the activities of the Taliban movement published by Kevorkova.

Full summary
She has collaborated with Nezavisimaya Gazeta, Russia Today, Novaya Gazeta and other publications, and was nominated for the International Women of Courage award in 2010. On 6 May 2024, she was searched and then taken for questioning as part of a case of public justification of terrorism because of her posts about the attack on Nalchik and the Taliban. The next day Kevorkova was taken into custody. On 3 December 2024, the prosecutor's office returned the case to the investigation. Later, the case went to court. On 12 March 2025 Kevorkova was sentenced to a fine of 600 thousand rubles.
