Case summary
Former coordinator of Navalny's headquarters in Volgograd, leader of the public movement "Dozor." In November 2021, a case was opened against him for dodging military service. He left Russia and was arrested in absentia. In 2022, a case was opened against him for disseminating "fake news" about the Russian Armed Forces. Kochegin's lawyer was not allowed to access the case file, and the court upheld this decision.
In 2025, a third criminal case was opened against him for justifying terrorism. According to security officials, Kochegin expressed approval of the bombing of the Crimean Bridge on October 8, 2022 on social media.
