Case summary

Ukrainian serviceman. Captured no later than April 2022. A case was brought against him for cruel treatment of civilians and murder of two or more people committed by an organised group on the grounds of political and ideological hatred: according to the investigation, he, together with another serviceman, killed two civilians in Mariupol (Donetsk region of Ukraine). On 15 September 2023, Kolodyazhny was sentenced in this case to 26 years in a strict regime colony. (We do not analyse this case.) He was also prosecuted for participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation due to his involvement in the activities of the Azov battalion. In March 2026, the case went to court. No later than April 2026, taking into account the previous sentence, Kolodyazhny was sentenced to 29 years in a strict regime colony.
