According to the investigation, he published a post on VKontakte in which he justified the actions of Mikhail Zhlobitsky, who blew himself up in the FSB building in Arkhangelsk. In the same post, written on behalf of the newspaper Zemlya Rossii (Land of Russia), the pensioner expressed posthumous gratitude to Zhlobitsky “for exposing the anti-people policies of the Russian authorities.”

Full summary
Pensioner, resident of St. Petersburg. He was detained on 20 November 2019 and sent to house arrest under the article on public justification of terrorism, on 14 January 2020 his arrest was cancelled and he was sentenced on his own recognizance.
On 13 August 2020, the court sent Kovalenko for compulsory treatment by a psychiatrist on an outpatient basis. Alexander's wife reported that the pensioner has oncological disease.
