Case summary
A resident of Izhevsk, he worked as a system administrator prior to his detention.Criminal proceedings were initiated against him on charges of incitement to terrorism in connection with the following comment: "That's why we listen to him, because he is not afraid - a ray of freedom in the kingdom of darkness! And we will destroy this darkness only together, when we understand that we have only one enemy - putin and his FSB clique... Both you and we must destroy this enemy so that we may continue to live as peaceful neighbours…". Krichevskii posted this comment on 11 September 2024 on the Telegram channel of Chechen opposition blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov.
On 22 January 2026, Krichevskii was sentenced to five and a half years in a general regime colony.
Krichevskii had been officially recognised as having a first-category disability, but after being taken into custody he was unable to renew this status. According to Mediazona, Krichevskii had inflammation in his bone marrow, as well as kidney problems. He is confined to a wheelchair.
During the trial, he stated that after his detention his mother, who required care, was placed in a nursing home. Four weeks later, she died.
